Official opening of the Laiyla Sadri Tatar Community Centre took place on 14 December 2013. Centre was officially opened by Hon Jack Snelling MP – Minister for Health and Ageing, Minister for Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Minister for Defence Industries, Minister for Veterans` Affairs, Member of the Executive Council, and Member for Playford. At the opening Hon Jack Snelling MP, Mr Roostam Sadri, Tatar Imam Bulat Ishmukhametov and Mr Shohrat Valiff made speeches for the importance of the Centre for Tatar community.
Centre is owned by Mr Roostam Sadri and he allowed Tatar Imam, Bulat Ishmukhametov to use the building not only as Imam’s residence but also to use it as Tatar Community Centre and Masjid exclusively by the Tatar community. Members of Tatar-Bashkurt Association and others have worked very hard in refurbishing the property as well as provided financial assistance for repairs since Tatar Imam moved to the property in September 2013. Tatar imam Bulat Ishmukhametov issued a thank you letter to Mr Ramil and Mrs Firdause Sadri for their valuable contribution to renovation work as well. Members of Tatar, Turkish and Uighur communities attended the opening of the Centre.
