March 18, 2021
The word Nowruz (Nauryz), means new day; its spelling and pronunciation may vary by country. Nauryz is known as the Persian New Year, which is celebrated worldwide by various ethno-linguistic groups usually on or around March 21. The festival has been celebrated by diverse communities for over 3,000 years in Western Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, the Black Sea Basin, the Balkans, and South Asia and marks the beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere. In 2010 the United Nations officially recognized the "International Day of Nowruz".
This year, Tatar Diaspora in Australia together with Central Asian Society in Adelaide (CASA), Australian Uyghur and Uzbek community, with a support from the Adelaide University, will celebrate a Nauryz festival on March 18 - 20 2021.
We invite you to celebrate Nauryz 2021 with Tatar-Bashkurt Assosiation in Australia on 18, 19, 20 Mach, 11am - 18pm, Maths Lawns, University of Adelaide.
